Springbok World Cup-winning captain Siya Kolisi has agreed a global publishing deal with HarperCollins.
The agreement, which includes the ‘All Language’ rights to his life story, was brokered between HarperCollins and Kolisi’s management agency, RocNation Sports, with additional input from The Blair Partnership.
Kolisi’s incredible story tracks from his adolescence in a poverty-stricken township and the death of his mother at just 15, to guiding South Africa to their first Rugby World Cup win in over a decade.
Set to be written by leading author Boris Starling, the book will be released early in 2021 ahead of the British & Irish Lions tour of South Africa.
“There are so many parts of my story that haven’t been told and I feel it’s the perfect time to share these with the hope of inspiring and motivating anyone who has ever faced adversity,” Kolisi said. “It was so important to me that my story was told from my own account and with the right publishing group. I’m thrilled to partner with HarperCollins on a creative project we can both be proud of.”
