Entries for the Discovery Sport Industry Awards 2015, returning to the Sandton Convention Centre on Thursday 12th February 2015, are now closed.

With the twelve popular categories returning to the Official Shortlist, this year will also include - for the first time - the Best African Sponsorship Award, recognising the excellent standard of work emerging from across the continent.

“Sponsorships on the continent are evolving at a rapid pace and have become more professional and impactful over the past three to five years,” said James Monteith, Managing Director at Sport Industry Group SA.

“It is important to recognise excellence from campaigns that deliver on their stated objectives, and for this reason we have sought to introduce the Best African Sponsorship Award for the 2015 Discovery Sport Industry Awards.”

“I am confident that our local judges will be pleasantly surprised by the calibre of submissions from north of our borders this year.”

Key figureheads from the sporting sector will once again brush shoulders with some of the globe’s greatest sportsmen and women to celebrate the most creative, innovative and commendable work from the last year.

In 2014, the Discovery Sport Industry Awards ceremony once again attracted more than 1,200 guests, including sportsmen and celebrities such as Lucas Radebe, John Smit, Greg Minnaar, Barry Richards, Jacques Kallis, Quinton Fortune, Cameron van der Burgh, Kerry McGregor, Jomo Sono, Roxy Louw, Butch James, Mark Fish, Natalie Du Toit and many more.
