Upon their arrival on Sunday from Ghana where they finished runners up and qualified for the FIFA Women’s World Cup, SAFA handed over Banyana Banyana their promised cheque incentives amounting to over R2,4 million which they will share among themselves.
SAFA met with the players before they departed for the 2018 Women’s AFCON and confirmed a bonus structure for the players. SAFA was supported in this commitment by sponsors SASOL.
The bonus structure was drawn up with the players long before they left for Ghana and with the help of the sponsors and the government through Lotto, the bonus incentives were agreed by all parties.
The bonuses paid, amounting to R2 415 000,00 will be shared exclusively by the 21 players who participated at the Women’s AFCON 2018.
