BOLAND concludes rights AGREEMENT

16 Oct 2017

Cricket Boland and Eurolux (Pty) Ltd announced today that Boland Park Paarl will now be known as Eurolux Boland Park, Paarl. This announcement follows the conclusion of a three-year Naming Rights Agreement between the parties and was timed to coincide with the erection of the new LED technology floodlights at Boland Park.

‘Cricket Boland is proud to partner with a company which started from humble beginnings in 2002, to being one of the leading suppliers in the electrical industry’, commented Cricket Boland President, Angelo Carolissen. He went on to say that the agreement demonstrates the confidence of Eurolux in the future of Cricket Boland and Boland Park and thanked Peter Willig and Steve Palframan for choosing Boland as their partners.

Peter Willig, Managing Director of Eurolux, commented that Eurolux has been pivotal in bringing the latest innovation in the lighting industry to South African businesses and consumers. What started out as a modest Cape Town operation has flourished into an impressive company with a nationwide footprint, including links across sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East.

Steve Palframan, Director at Eurolux and former Boland and Protea wicketkeeper said, “We believe in the future of Boland Park and cricket in South Africa and are proud to partner with a union with such a rich cricketing heritage and forward-looking leadership. May our partnership go from strength to strength”

James Fortuin, Chief Executive Officer at Cricket Boland, stated that “We see the partnership as strategic in the sense that the financial injection will be ring fenced for the sole purpose of upgrading the infrastructure at the stadium. Our aim is to create a world class stadium, but to maintain Eurolux Boland Park’s unique character and country feel. We are well on our way with achieving this vision with Eurolux buying into and supporting this vision, through a substantial contribution in our floodlights upgrading project.”
